Breaking of bread 10.30 – 11.30*

We meet as a group of believers to remember the Lord Jesus and His death for us on the cross. This is a time of hymns and prayers during which we share bread and wine together, representing His body and blood. We do this as requested by the Lord (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).

Gospel Service 18.30-19.30 (Other than on Community Tea Sundays)

A service for those of all ages who want to learn more about God and the Bible. There are usually a few hymns followed by a talk on a Bible book or topic.

Community Tea 17.00 – 18.00 (once a month – see calendar on home page or notice board outside the Church for dates)

An informal meeting, usually involving a few songs, a quiz and a short Bible-based talk. This is followed by a buffet-style tea and time to chat.

Currently on hold due to COVID.

*Some services (Breaking of bread and Wednesday’s Prayer and Bible Reading) are open for the leading of the Holy Spirit. This means that there is not a pre-set format of person leading the meeting. We do this because we believe the instructions in the Bible, particularly those in 1 Corinthians 11-14, should be taken literally and should be practiced in the church today.

Because of the instructions in 1 Corinthians 14:34-38), only the believing men take verbal part in these services, for example by leading in prayer and teaching. This by no means suggests we think that women are inferior to the men. Although they have a different role, and in this case remain silent except for singing, we believe that God views both as equal in status and their presence and contribution as equally vital to the church.
